Richard Preston is the author of seven books, including The Hot Zone: The Chilling True Story of an Ebola Outbreak, The Cobra Event, and The Demon in the Freezer. He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker and has received several awards such as the American Institute of Physics Award and the National Magazine Award. He lives outside New York City with his wife and children and teaches non-fiction writing at the University of Iowa.
