What do Gen Xers want from the workplace?

Also known as the ‘sandwich generation’ with demands from both elderly parents and children, Gen X face a double whammy on their finances. While some take on C-suite positions, others are facing redundancy, so what are they looking for from work and how can organizations help them?

Mike North

Professor Mike North is assistant professor of management and organizations at New York University Stern School of Business and the founding director of the AGE Initiative. Professor North’s research focuses primarily on challenges of, and considerations for, the ageing, and increasingly multigenerational workforce.

Astrid Boesze

Astrid Boesze has spent over 25 years guiding people and their life choices including heading up talent at creative agencies, W&K, in New York and 180 in Amsterdam and LA. Now based in Mexico where she coaches her international clients, Boesze is a Co-Active Professional Certified Coach (CPCC), a trained Organization and Relationship Systems Coach (ORSC), a certified Courageous Conversation About Race (CCAR) practitioner, and an accredited Emotional Intelligence Life Coach.

Jo Peters

Jo Peters spent 20 years in international agencies working for brands such as Nike and Playstation. Having set up her trend consultancy, Jo volunteered with Samaritans. In 2020, she trained as a coach with the Co-Active Training Institute, helping clients make positive changes in their professional and personal lives. Jo recently studied with Climate Change Coaches, partnering with those wanting to take action on this vital systemic issue. Together with writing on consumer trends and design, Jo loves the big outdoors, from the beach in Shoreham-by-Sea where she lives to MTB on the South Downs.
