How codes of sustainability are shifting amid eco-fatigue

As generic eco-friendly claims fuel a sense of eco-fatigue, many people are craving innovative, inspiring, and visceral solutions that respond to the climate crisis. So, how can brands create products, campaigns, and services that meet these demands and provide hope for the future?

Sarah Housley

Sarah Housley is a design futurist and trend forecaster, and the former Head of Consumer Tech at WGSN. For the past fourteen years she has worked across the creative industries to track and forecast trends. She specialises in technology, innovation, and sustainability.

Sarah has spoken on design futures internationally at events including the London Design Festival, Dutch Design Week, and iF Chengdu, and has consulted with numerous brands on topics ranging from the future of water to our evolving relationship with robots. She is frequently asked to provide commentary for the media on trends and futures research, and has been interviewed on BBC Radio 4 and CGTN.

Niels Devisscher

Niels is a Berlin-based regenerative communications designer, award-winning photographer, visual artist, and writer. He works at the intersection of regenerative development, purpose-driven business, design and art, and strategic communications, supporting organisations looking to move beyond sustainability and adopt regeneration in their business.

Niels develops communication campaigns and designs authentic content that powers a company's mission and grows a community that believes in what you do and stand for. As an apprentice of living systems, he helps align brand communications with the principles of nature.

Fru Bekefi

Fru Bekefi is a cultural researcher and artist with a soft spot for trends that sound weird today but pave the way toward preferable futures. She helps people and organisations understand the signals, drivers, and implications of cultural and behavioural change. When not at work, you’ll probably find her down a niche research rabbit hole, an exhibition, or embroidering something sparkly.
