Emerging technologies are reshaping creative processes, highlighting a tension between digital tools and a growing desire for authentic, human-driven output. Canvas8 spoke to cultural insider Sorrel Salb to explore the current trends and developments that are impacting the creative community.
Sorrel Salb is a strategist with expertise across music, technology, culture, fashion, sports, and gaming. Previous roles included leading early TikTok experimentation with Spotify and building out Web3 and community infrastructure with the global arts showcasing platform COLORSxSTUDIOS. Salb brings a Gen Z lens to projects and has deep knowledge of Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Her network of friends and collaborators spans the globe, allowing her to easily keep a finger on what's 'cool' in different communities and the emerging trends in various countries and subcultures.
Rachel Choi is a Behavioural Analyst at Canvas8. With a degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from Oxford University, she has an interdisciplinary understanding of behavioural and cultural patterns across societies. She has a love for stories that capture the nature of human experience, through writing, media, or material culture. Outside of work, you can find her attending exhibitions, oscillating between overthinking and head-empty-just-vibes, or rewatching her favourite (usually Studio Ghibli!) films.
