While there’s growing awareness of the impact of tourism on the environment and local communities, there’s also a widespread lack of truly meaningful action to address it. Canvas8 spoke to Jeremy Sampson to understand the role businesses can play in building a solution.
Jeremy Sampson has dedicated his career to driving systems-level transformation in global travel and tourism. He specialises in creating collaborative partnerships that advance climate action and foster economic equity. His work is fuelled by a passion to ensure that travel benefits both the people and places it touches. He co-authored UN Tourism’s Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism, launched at COP26 and served as the founding chair of the Future of Tourism Coalition, bringing together several leading NGOs in travel and tourism for the first time. As a globally recognised keynote speaker, he has presented at events such as ITB Berlin and the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29).
