Online shopping may be convenient, but it often makes little logistical sense to undercut local businesses and add to the already massive delivery carbon footprint. German online retail start-up Kiezkaufhaus wants to solve this problem, offering same-day delivery from stores local to customers.

Favouring cash over card and valuing everything local, Germans aren’t renowned for their online shopping habits, despite the country being the second largest e-commerce market in Europe. But KPglobal is changing this, connecting online consumers with local retailers.

Germans are developing an increasing appetite for produce grown on their home soil. Three in four people prefer food items to not only be ‘Made in Germany’, but to also be sourced from the same region or state - creating a sense of not just local, but hyper-local.
