Tax free shops to boost Japan’s tourism

In 2014, millions across Japan embarked on shopping sprees prior to the first tax increase since the ‘90s – from 5% to 8%. But by June 2014, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced a widening range of goods that could be bought completely tax free. Now, 20,000 tax free shops are set to open.
