Only 0.01% of content on the internet is written in Indian languages and now, an entire generation is growing up unable to use the internet in their native language. Reverie Language Technologies is championing internet equality by making more web content more accessible in India.

Over a quarter of internet use is currently in the English language, but that will have to change in order for the next billion users to come online. In India, where 90% of people don’t speak English, the majority believe digital content in local languages is more reliable.

If the internet were a country, it would be the fifth largest economy all on its own, but just 43% of people have access to it. Since 2013, Facebook has been working alongside names including Samsung and Qualcomm to fix this. But could making the internet accessible to all really be so simple?
