How is the entrepreneurial economy evolving Down Under?

Australia is on the precipice of a post-pandemic entrepreneurial boom, with young, female, and minority founders driving a spike in new business registrations. As they chart new career paths in search of meaning, autonomy, and stability, how can brands assist them in going solo?

Martin Bliemel

Martin Bliemel is the director of research at the University of Technology Sydney’s TD School, a centre dedicated to transdisciplinary education and research. His research interests include entrepreneurial networks, accelerators, education, research commercialisation, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and the entrepreneurial university.

Colin McLeod

Colin McLeod is a professor in the faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne and the executive director of the Melbourne Entrepreneurial Centre. He was awarded the title of Enterprise Professor in 2016 in recognition of his contribution to industry and academia. Colin is also active as an entrepreneur, serving as a director/investor/co-founder at five early-stage companies in retail technology, wireless technology, employee management, aged care, and wearable biotechnology.
