While most people pay for goods online in their native currency, as mobile payment systems mature - boosted by Apple Pay - and new currencies flourish, soon digital wallets may have a new job: helping pick the best currency for each transaction.

As people in India become more comfortable with making payments online, the country's leading mobile wallet service MobiKwik has launched the first money transfer service. The wallet-to-wallet feature lets its eight million users send money at the tap of a button.

Referred to as 'Uber for bar tabs', Australian-based 'tab' app Clipp means people no longer have to leave their card behind the bar when they go for a drink. The app can be linked to multiple phones, so multiple drinkers can use it at the same time - with just one final bill.
