Latinx Americans constitute one of the fastest-growing ethnic demographics in the US, yet their presence in mainstream media is severely lacking. How are digital channels helping to address this under-representation? And what do broadcasters and brands need to know about these audiences?

Stacie M. de Armas is the vice president of strategic initiatives and consumer engagement and a public affairs leader within Nielsen’s Diversity and Inclusion practice. As a subject matter expert for the Latinx market, she works to elevate the understanding of the power and contributions of the Hispanic consumer across a variety of projects.

Dr. Frances Negron-Muntaner

Dr. Frances Negron-Muntaner is a Puerto Rican filmmaker, writer, and scholar. Her work is focused on a comparative exploration of coloniality, primarily in Puerto Rico and the United States, with special attention given to the intersections between race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and politics. She is an associate professor of English and comparative literature and director of the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race at Columbia University in New York City.
